As possibilidades de jantar no centro de Cascais são cada vez mais numerosas. Parece-me que todas as semanas abrem novos locais que conquistarão, alguns, a fidelidade dos locais, outros serão fogo de artifício passageiro para turistas. Na categoria de satisfação universal estão todas as hamburguerias e as casas de frangos, em particular o Jardim dos Frangos, local de passagem obrigatória para locais e forasteiros.

Um local que conquistou já o seu lugar é, sem dúvida, o Polvo Vadio na rua Afonso Sanches, mesmo em frente a um dos que tem sido ao longo dos anos um bar emblemático da vila, local de passagem e peregrinação dos residentes estrangeiros.

O Polvo Vadio tem várias características particulares. A mais evidente é tratar-se de um restaurante dedicado a essa inteligente mas deliciosa proteína. Outra é o tamanho diminuto do local, que dificulta quem lá quer jantar. A reserva é obrigatória e necessária.

Passada a dificuldade, resta apreciar. Para além da iguaria-mãe, há outras opções, como os camarões ao alhinho (que me foram explicados em detalhe pela cozinheira-proprietária, de uma simpatia a toda a prova). Recomendo vivamente a tábua de polvo, o polvo à lagareiro e o brownie final, delicioso.

O serviço é perfeito, o ambiente acolhedor e próprio para namorar, a simpatia está garantida. Para voltar no verão e no inverno até conhecer todos os pratos e, depois ainda, voltar ao início e começar tudo de novo.

Dining possibilities in the center of Cascais are increasing in number. It seems to me that every week new places open that will conquer, some of them, the hearts of locals,while others will be fireworks for tourists. In the category of universal satisfaction are all hamburger and roast chicken houses, in particular O Jardim dos Frangos, a must-go place for both locals and outsiders.

One place that has already won its place is undoubtedly the Polvo Vadio, located on street Afonso Sanches, just in front of one the bars that has been over the years an emblematic place of passage and pilgrimage for foreign residents.

O Polvo Vadio has several distinctive features. The most obvious is being a restaurant devoted to this clever but delicious protein. Another is the small size of the place, which makes it harder for those wishing to have dinner there. Reservation is absolutely required.

Once the difficulty is solved, all you have left is to enjoy it. In addition to the namesake delicacy, there are several other options, such as garlic shrimp (which recipe was explained to me in detail by the cook-owner). I highly recommend the octopus board for a starter, the octopus à lagareira and the final brownie, so delicious.

Service is perfect, the atmosphere warm and suitable for a special evening with your significant other, friendliness is guaranteed. A place to come back to in the summer and in winter until you´ve tried all the options on the menu and then back to the beginning and start all over again.
